Perché non dedicare un piccolo spazio a chi così virtuosamente sa dedicarsi alla musica perché è una grande passione.
I Driverdeniro non scendono a compromessi. Hanno deciso di essere in due… e chi ha detto che 3 è il numero perfetto si sbaglia.
Basta ascoltarli e non dare per scontato nulla.

“Stweart attacca a un tempo allucinante e io mi sistemo dietro la macchina motrice, chiedendomi dove mi porterà questa corsa. Si parte: la batteria picchia e pompa come una mitragliatrice, il basso serpeggia come un pitone in una giungla di ritmo e colpi di piatto. Persino in questa primissima fase del nostro rapporto è evidente che fra di noi c’è qualcosa, un’alchimia, un’intesa, un’identificazione, una corrispondenza e una tensione fra il battito anfetaminico della sua grancassa e la mobile e potente impalcatura del basso…” da Broken Music di Sting

Questa era la descrizione del primo incontro tra Stweart Copeland e Sting (Andy Summers arriverà in seguito).

L’incredibile sintonia tra i due musicisti fondatori dei Police non fu abbastanza forte da far durare nel tempo il sodalizio che ribaltò la band ai vertici del successo mondiale.
In seguito furono le loro stesse forti individualità e le questioni commerciali (royalties e le questioni discografiche) a separare i destini dei tre musicisti che segnarono un altro incredibile momento storico nella musica. Lo stesso Sting si sentiva stretto negli schemi di un trio che limitava creativamente la produzione e l’esecuzione dei suoi brani.

Indubbiamente quando penso a Sting lo associo ai Police, a quell’impatto sonoro così potente e originale che non ritroverò più nelle sue successive produzioni.

Questa sera Sting sarà al Teatro degli Arcimboldi insieme alla Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Non credo che ci andrò. Non credo che potrà neanche lontanamente procurarmi quel brivido che provai la prima volta ascoltando Message in a bottle alla radio.

Ma “tanto di cappello” ad un artista che ha saputo trasformarsi caparbiamente nel corso degli anni in un simbolo vivente della musica a tutto tondo.

Nel suo ultimo lavoro Anais Mitchell, giovane cantautrice del Vermont, canta l’amore tra le rovine nell’epica opera folk di “Hadestown”. Nel cd raccoglie testi e musica che aveva lei stessa scritto per un piccolo musical teatrale, è così che nasce, ambientato in un mondo post apocalittico dove Anais ridipinge in forma moderna il mito di Orfeo ed Euridice.
Un’interpretazione originale e fresca della crisi culturale e morale che stiamo vivendo, attraverso la narrativa mitologica di un passato che nei contenuti rivive ancora.

Anais Mitchell scrive canzoni che riescono ad essere intime come conversazioni eppure così ricche di dettagli da sembrare novelle in miniatura.
L’energia di Anais che imbraccia semplicemente una chitarra, subito rimbalza oltre lo stage, verso il pubblico, che ammaliato dalla sua voce così limpida ed espressiva, rimane ad ascoltare le sue storie così piene di natura e sensibilità, e cruda realtà.

Anais Mitchell è alla sua quarta produzione, la seconda con la scuderia Righteous Babe di Ani Difranco.

La band italiana Exilia è entrata nella Chart tedesca 20 Dat (Deutschen Alternative- und Trendcharts) al 17esimo posto, con l’album “Naked”, pubblicato il 28 maggio 2010 (My Place Records / Soulfood/Venus).
Una soddisfazione impagabile essere tra i Placebo, Hole, Amy MacDonald e Deftones.
Del resto Masha Mysmane, Elio “Alien”, Marco Valerio ed il nuovissimo Rob Iaculli ce la mettono tutta.
Niente vacanze per loro, visto che è già cominciato il lavoro “on the road” a partire dal SXSW negli Usa
nel marzo di quest’anno, poi l’uscita del disco, il video, e già hanno un fornito calendario che li terrà lontani da casa fino a dicembre.
Fare il musicista è piacevole, questione di passione, ma bisogna lavorare sodo… come tutti gli altri.
Godetevi questi momenti. Sono preziosi. Keep on rockin‘!

EXILIA new trailer Cd Promotion and back To USA!

A trailer for “Naked”, the forthcoming CD LIMITED EDITION from the Milan, Italy-based rock/metal act EXILIA, can be
viewed below. The CD’s first single, “No Tears For You”, will be featured on this deluxe release that includes
unplugged versions of their top hits such  as Stop Playing God, Coincidence and more.

The other great news is that the band is  also going to perform at SXSW festival from March the 17th till the 21st,
SXSW festival is the most important event in USA showcasing nearly 2,000 musical acts from around the globe at over 80 stages in downtown Austin, EXILIA is going to perfom at Bayou Lounge for Land Shark Promotion and captiva showcase.
